Blog 10!!!!

The most interesting thing that i learned about me and my food was the fact that i am so involved with my food and love eating ooo soo much. I didnt know i enjoyed food soo much until i started doing this blog. It is definitely something very important to me. I also learned that i dont eat right at all. The food i eat on a regular basis isnt very healthy and can be harmful to me in the long run. But for some reason even though i know that it doesnt stop me from eating what i want to eat. The foods i eat prolly also effect other people that eat the same foods. I have learned about where the foods i eat came from and whats inside them and the whole nine yards. For some foods i was interested and for others i was just surprised and didnt really want to know. I guess my relationship with my body isnt as strong as my relationship with my food. Me and MY food have a way stronger bond!
I have learned alot from doing the blog experiment. I think im probably goin to continue writing blogs even after im done with this semester. Im glad i was introduced to the blog world.

Blog 9:
Is my favorite meal healthy? Well i dont really think its healthy. My favorite meal is entrana(skirt Steak), buffalo wings and a grilled cheese sandwich. To me all those foods sound really dangerous. Well not the dangerous, but it isnt no spinach and carrots! Steak can give you heart problems and other health issues because of all the calories it has. Buffalo wings are probably not a real big health hazard but it has its effects. Not only health wise but ur hands are gonna get dirty to the max. I feel like grilled cheese is fine, as long as it isnt overdosed on. Cheese is always good unless ur lactose intolerant. Then u will have a bathroom problem.
I think that touching the food to make them more healthy would practically ruin the originality of the food and downgrade the essence and taste of the food. But there are always ways to make a meal healthier. For example, eating a grilled cheese sandwich with whole wheat bread can be healthier, and not using butter would make the grilled cheese sandwich less unhealthy. i Guess cleaning the meat more and adding less ingredients can take of a percentage of unhealthiness. There are always ways to make a meal healthier, you just need to find the way.
I just wanted to add in that i went rock climbing this past sunday and my hands are all sore! typing this isnt really making me feel any better!

The commentary that i found for entrana skirt steak that is a part of my favorite meal was that its very good when made to perfection. It is a more cheaper and thinner steak. People said it was a cheap eat. Others said it is decent. "One of the least expensive cuts of meat used in an asado, entrana is what many know as the skirt steak. The cuts are exactly the same. The meat is rich in flavor and extremely juicy, but can be at times be rather chewy and tough."(www.asadoargentina.com) Grilled cheese commentary was said a regular meal which any person will like. Not much commentary on grilled cheese sandwiches. Buffalo wings was said to be dirty but great tasting meal. You can get your hands dirty eating them but it all worth it because of its tangy spicy overwhelming taste."The Buffalo chicken wing turns 40 years old this weekend. Reporter Eileen Buckley finds folks in Buffalo are still plenty proud of the bar snack that put the city in New York on the road map of American cuisine."(Weekend Edition Sunday, September 5, 2004) . A health issue for my meal is mad cow disease for the entrana. Beef isnt a very healthy meal to eat. It can also make you have heart problems. You are killing animals in order to eat entrana. It can also cause cancer and etc. Grilled cheese is not really a big deal unless you eat it everyday. Other than that it is a healthy meal. Buffalo wings can make your colestoral high. Well even after i read all of this i still love my meal. SOO sOO good!!!

2 days ago i ate parts of my favorite meal and all i was thinking about was my blog. Thats scary, but while i was eating i told my self that i am going to write this in my blog. Here i am telling you guyz about eating parts of my favorite meal. The part i ate was the entrana. I went to My Uncle's Steak House. OOO OOo man was it good. It was Bangin(real good). The Steak was cooked to perfection. The funny thing is that as soon as i walk in the restaurant the waitress already gives in my order because she knows that i order the same thing everytime i go into that restaurant. Thats why i always leave her a big tip, she knows how to give good service. This week i learned that ??? hmm i dont really think i learned much this week about the food topic but i did learn alot of information about how global warming is a very dangerous thing thats happenen to us. I learned this from going to The Museum Of Natural History.

I found my information by going to people i know and asking them. I also got my information from on the web. I used Wikipepedia for some information. Wikipedia.com. Where Does Bread come from? This is for my grilled cheese sandwich. This information can be found at (http://www.awhc.org/)
A farmer plants wheat in the fall to be harvested the next summer. To prepare the
ground, the farmer must plow, drill (which plants the seeds) and then fertilize the
seeds. The seeds begin to grow and during the fall the wheat turns golden. Its now harvest time.A combine is a machine that cuts the wheat. The heads of wheat are pulled up into the machine where the kernels are separatedfrom the chaff. The stems and head parts of the plant are thrown out the back andthe grain is stored in the machine. At the mill, the endosperm must be separated from the rest of the kernel. This isthe flour. The wheat must be cleaned and then tempered, which means water is added toraise the kernel moisture. The wheat is ground and sifted many times to get theflour. The flour is sent in one direction, while the other material from the wheat is sent in another direction. At this point, the flour goes in many different directions. The flour may end up onthe grocery shelf for you to buy, it may go to bakeries where bread and other items are made, or any other places where flour is needed for food items. The
food may be baked and made differently, but it all comes from wheat flour!
Americans consume 22 billion pounds of bread a year -- that's 77.6 pounds for
each one of us. Next is cheese! American cheese obviously comes from America. It can come from many differnt cheese processing companies. This week i learend how bread was processed and made. Pretty cool.

Museum of Natural History!

The trip to the museum of natural history was great! i haven't been there since i was like in third grade. It was really interesting and the animals and humans in there looked so real. Pretty crazy..\
Here are some of the things that i learned at the Museum Of Natural History. Venus and earth are about the saem size and probably started out with similar atmospheres, But now the aitmospheres are very differnt... The amouunt of carbon dioxide in the atmoaphere is related to global temperature- as the earth warms. Co2 increases . Vice versa. Measuring co2 in ice cores provides a record of atmospjeric co2 variation over thousands of years- from one glacial period t another. By tracking the
natural variablity of co2. Scientists havre discovered that the recent rise in atmosphere co2 has ben casued by human activities. Carbon dioxide and global warming... Glacial ice records the the climate of past ages.. The composition of the ice itself and of the air bubbles and dust trapped in it record changes in temperature. Humidity. Atmospheric . Circulation. Volcanic activity, extents of sea ice, and even atmosheric pollution by human activity. Greenland how ice burgs are melting because of global warming. Greenland melts and sea level rise and soon or later it wil gulf land... Pollution from human activity. The burning of coals releases nitrogen and sulfur compund sinto the atmosphere. They show up as higher concentrations of nitrate and sulfate compunds in ice. Average increases in these pollutants became evident in ice core layers beggining in the late 19th century.
Global warming-the amount od carbon dioxide in ther atmosphere has increases due to the extensive burning of fossil fuels. Which started with the industrial revoltuion around 1850. Since then global temperature has aslso increases. Because carbon dioxide is a greeb gas.
Scientists believe it is partyle reponsible for this warming. Discovering fossil detective. There were many media forms and presentations in the Museum Of Natural History. They displayed things through mini films, exhibits, pictures and there were workers that were explaining the exhibits. One media form was a mini video presentation i saw about global warming. There were many effects and cinematic elements that really helped explain how green land ice lands were melting because of global warming. The video showed how greenland ice was melting over the years and how risky this can be for us. The presentation was great and i learned so much from a 3 min presentation. The pictures in the exhibit related to the film. There cinematic sensibility. Overall the Museum Of Natural History was a great trip and there is so much history and information that is very important in there. I learned so much at the Museum.

Where do these ingredients come from? Ingrediants can come from all over the world. In order to make certain recipes you need certn spices. Hot sauce ingrediants really come from what hot sauce your using. There are many differnts kinds of hot sauce. most hot sauce is made from chilli pepper, salt and vinegar. They mostly come from the united states. It can also come from all over like china, mexico and other countries. it really depends on what type of hot sauce ur using to make the buffalo wings. In order to make entrana you need olive oil. Olive oil comes from olive trees. It mostly comes from north america. The actual skirt steak comes from a cow and can be coming from any where around the world. Another ingrediant used to make entrana to perfection is scallions. scallions are grown in Jamaica, and Trinadad & Tabago. So far i have learned where certain ingredients come from. It is interesting to know where you favorite meals ingredients really come from. Some times it can aqlso disgust and surprise you.
